hey, it's jess

Ivy Lane Portraits began when it felt like the world was ending. Jess is a self-taught artist who found her creativity in the middle of a pandemic winter in Ohio.

Trying to find joy in the midst of an emotional year she began to create holiday calligraphy which morphed into pet portraits for holiday gifts. Pulling from her adolescent years of doodling Disney figures from VHS covers, she began to grow her skills.

It's no surprise her main subjects are animals, as she has always been enamored by them since she was young (and she may or may not have stolen a neighbor's dog when she was 5...and they gave it to her!), but she also enjoys creating architectural portraits for her clients.

When she isn't drawing she can be found exploring a new city every few weeks as she and her husband Mark and their wheaten terrier Rupert travel the United States in their 32' travel trailer. You can follow their travels on instagram at @thebrandadventures.
